Label Printer Warranties

Repair or replace labelers under warranty

Key things to know about warranties

Every single label printer on the market comes with a "warranty". The thing to remember is that they are always "limited warranties", which means that the company issuing the warranty is only legally bound to do a very limited set of things for you. Make sure you select a label printer with a company that will stand behind their equipment and supplies, providing you not only warranty service, but ongoing technical support and service for the life of the customer relationship.

What can I expect in a labeler warranty?

What does a labeler warranty give me? Most labeler warranties cover defects in the construction of the labeler. Some warranties also cover the printing components, such as the thermal print head, inside the labeler. These warranties often will guarantee that said components will last for a certain period of time, or for a certain number of prints. The warranty itself is not nearly as important as the company that stands behind it.

It is very important to purchase a labeler that has a good warranty. Even more important is to purchase from a company that you feel comfortable with, and who is honest with you about their product. Companies that "supply lock" usually aren't as concerned about you getting the best value out of your labeler as they are concerned about getting the most money out of you. Purchase a labeler with a good warranty, but make sure you're getting from a good company too.

"A warranty is only as good as the people that represent it."
