Getting the right labeling supplies

Labeling Supplies Defined

The term "labeling supplies" refers to any consumable supplies that are used to produce labels. This always includes at least a "substrate", or material on which the label is created, and an "ink", the material which creates the marking on the label. In business labeling, the "substrate" is usually vinyl, and the ink is usually a resin.

What supplies do I need? When you're getting into labeling, make sure you end up with the right supplies for the job. With some companies, if you don't get it right the first time, you can trade-in your supplies for the ones you need. This means that you don't have to worry about wasting money on supplies you don't need, you simply trade in the ones you don't end up using.

The goal is to try to get the supplies you will need and use on the first go. Then when you need to re-order, you'll be re-ordering just what you need, and not making up for lost time. Labeling supplies come in a variety of colors, materials, and sizes. You can get continous roll labeling tape, which lets you create labels of any length. You can also get die-cut labels, which are pre-cut to a specific size and configuration. Die-cut labels are very useful when you need to create a lot of standardized labels for a specific task. Continuous roll labels are excellent for flexibility, if you need to label an entire building, or want to use the supply for a variety of tasks.
